Timeshare Resale Companies Reviewed
We have found that advertising your timeshare for sale is one of the better ways to sell your timeshare. The problem is some companies are not equal to other companies and when you are advertising you want to make sure you get the most exposure for your money. There are some key items you can investigate to check out a timeshare resale company before paying to advertise with them. We did an investigation on 3 companies to help you out. Obviously follow the steps we take and check out any other companies that you might be looking at
Alexa
Alexa is the worlds largest internet traffic monitor and a great place to see what companies are getting the most traffic to their website. It is a good measurement to see if the site is getting the exposure they are claiming. Below is a graph that shows what we consider the top 3 resale companies on the internet.
ARDA
ARDA stands for American Resort Development Association. They are the only governing body for timeshares. They over see timeshares companies to make sure they follow strict guidelines. It is important to see if the company you are looking to list with is a member of ARDA.
Use the link below to verify membership to ARDA. The 3 companies that we are investigating are all listed. Buyatimeshare.com is listed as "Vacation Property Resales", Timshareonly.com again is listed as "Vacations Only", and Sellmytimesharenow is listed as Sell My Timeshare Now, LLC.

The Better Business Bureau is another good organization to check out to see how they conduct business and if they have a good record of dealing with customer complaints. Remember every company will have some complaints it is whether of not they take care of customer complaints or not. Below are links to search results for the 3 domains we are researching
Buyatimeshare.com has 2 locations that are shown when searching. This is a good sign of a growing company and also a company that is not a fly by night scam.

Money Back Guarantee
Check with the company to see if they offer a money back guarantee. If they do, make sure it is in writing. Most companies will offer a money back guarantee if you sell your timeshare without the use of their service within a % of your listing price. This is key because if you do sell it to a friend or family member it would be nice to get your money back.

Homepage 3.5 out of 5
The homepage on buyatimeshare.com is very clean and easy to use. This give you 3 very clear options at the top of the page to sell, buy, or rent. There is a lot of great information on the homepage with great sections to the site along the homepage.
Searching 4.5 our of 5
They have a few options for searching properties the one that I favor is on the left side of the site. You can quickly search for anything you want or looking for. The other options are across the top of the website as "Buy a Vacation Property" and "Rent a Vacation Property". After you make one of those selections you have 4 options by ad number, by city, by resort, or by area. Everything is very self explanatory after that point and allows you to define your search for anything.

The ad layout on buyatimeshare.com is very basic but very informative. They give a great description of the resort and what is around the timeshare. All the information about the resort is very easy to understand and they have a very easy to use make an offer button on the bottom for when you are ready to buy or rent that timeshare. Most ads include over 10 photos of the resort and the area around. Even better than the pictures is the area video that will give you a great idea what is around the area.

Buyatimeshare.com is full of features that we like. First of all they have a free section on there site that shows you all properties for sale under $5000 called Smokin Deals. Also they have a section for rentals that includes timeshares for rent under $800. They also have a paid inclusion section on the left side of the site that shows Hot Deals these properties rotate on the homepage for each time the page is refreshed. The best paid inclusion comes as Featured Properties; these get rotated on the top of the search results but are related to the search that is performed. So if someone searches Florida the featured section will only show featured properties in Florida. This is a great feature to target a more direct market.

We give buy a timeshare 4.25 out of 5 overall. We think they have some room for improvement in there ad layout and search results area but nothing major. It is a very easy to use website that is great for buyers and renters to search for the property they want.

The homepage on Timeshareonly.com is dominated by there very large Buy, Sell, Rent icons that make it very easy to understand what to do. With a lot of confusion on what timeshares are and how they work we were kind of disappointed that there was no help section off the homepage to explain timeshares. Overall the page is very clean and easy to understand what you can do.
Searching 3 out of 5
When searching for say Marriott it brings you to a page of Marriott's that are available. We wish the page would give more information about the resorts like where they are located and maybe a brief info of the resort. Once you select the resort you want you have to then select the one that meets you requirements. The searching can be a little confusing and a little information along the way would be helpfull.
Ad Layout 5 out of 5
Timeshareonly really excels when it comes to the ad layout. With the information available you really understand what is available in the unit, at the resort, and nearby. The layout is really easy to understand and has a great ease of use. With the "?" at points that might not be understood we thing this is a great idea especially if someone is searching that does not own or know about timeshares.

We could not find many add on features on timeshareonly. They do have a Featured properties section and a hot rentals section on the homepage but that seems like it is all.
Overall 4 out of 5
We ranked timeshareonly at a 4 out of 5. We think they should add some more helpful information. Timesharing is confusing and needs to be explained most times to even the veteran timeshare owner.

Homepage 4.5 out of 5
Sellmytimesharenow.com has a great layout on the homepage, however we feel it is a bit cluttered with to much information. We do like that the featured properties on the home page rotate which means you have more of a chance to have your property show up while someone is reading on the homepage. Some of the wording doesn't make sense to us like the button for "Find timeshare resales" I understand what they mean but it would be easier if it just said "Find timeshares for sale"
Searching 4 out of 5
Searching for a property can be a little complicated and there is no quick search where you can just type in what you want and get it. Instead you have the option of searching by ad #, Resort Name, City, State, Country, and area it can be a little confusing having all of these options on 1 page. Once you get your search results the page is very bland and not very attracting to the eye. They give just basic information and a few words of comments. One feature we like is the ability to sort the results by Resort name, Area, Unit, Usage, Week, or by Price. This allows you to quickly find what you are looking for

When you click on an ad we feel the layout is very vertical and hard to get the information you want. First thing you get is the name of the resort followed by the picture and then the resort description. After that all the pertinent information is again vertical down the page so there is a lot of scrolling that has to be done to view the page. It would be nice if there was a better layout that allows you to see the pertinent information without scrolling.

Sellmytimesharenow as well has a featured section on the homepage and we like how there featured properties rotate as someone is reading the page. This gives you a better chance to get your property seen if you subscribe to there featured property section.

We give Sellmytimesharenow.com 4 our of 5 stars. Overall the site is good some parts are lacking in the WOW factor but we feel it is a good design with some very good options.
